Georgia Cabin Rentals: Mountain, Lakeside And Pet Friendly

When most people think of Georgia, they conjure images of warm weather, sprawling plantations and groves of succulent peach trees. However, there is another side to this southern hospitality.

Georgia cabin rentals host throngs of visitors year-round. Located in the heights of the southern Appalachian Mountains, Georgia cabin rentals boast scenic views of mountains and lakes. Visitors who are used to the pleasantly temperate savannahs of Southern Georgia keep warm with mountain-side hot tubs and indoor fireplaces accompanying each facility.

One of the most popular destinations for Georgia cabin rentals is in the Blue Ridge region of the North Georgia Mountains. Located half-way between Atlanta, Ga. and Chattanooga, Tenn., the North Georgia Mountains offer a scenic getaway.

Several cabin companies rent units along the 3,290-acre Blue Ridge Lake. For example, Mountain Top Cabin Rentals accommodates between eight and ten guests for a rate between $135 to $225 per night or $810 to $1,350 per week. Four person cabins can be rented for nightly rate of $125.

Another Georgia cabin rental agency, First Class Cabin Rentals, allows customers to choose either a lake-front or scenic mountain view. The cabins, which sleep two to twelve, are equipped with wood-burning and gas log fireplaces, five-person hot tubs and pool tables. Some cabins even have access to high-speed DSL Internet connections. Nightly rates for cabins range from $215 for a two bedroom to $250 for an isolated three bedroom. The four-bedroom mansion, complete with lake-front access, a five-person hot tub and four king suites overlooking the mountainous lake, sells for a nightly rate of $600 during the summer and $400 during the off-season. In fact, most units rent for a substantial discount during off-season months.

Both Mountain Top and First Class Cabin Rentals offer either adult-only or family cabins as well as pet friendly cabins.

Ellijay, a small town just southwest of Blue Ridge Lake, is nestled at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains. Sheltered between the North Georgia Mountains and teeming with rivers and streams, Ellijay offers mountain cabin rentals at affordable rates. With a population of 1,500, Ellijay hosts the Georgia Apple Festival every October.

Mountain cabin rentals, including lakeside cabin rentals, are prevalent throughout Georgia's mountainous northern regions. Small towns, like Ellijay and Helen, continue to accommodate tourists seeking to escape the bustling city life and settle, if momentarily, into the relaxing world of Georgia cabin rentals.

Encased between wooded Appalachian peaks, Georgia cabin rental visitors fall asleep to the comforting violins of the crickets and the gentle hum of the swiftly flowing mountainous streams.
